Event details

We are excited to once again return with the residential summer programme in August.

Delegates will have the opportunity to join courses led by our expert teaching teams, connect with other members from around the world, network with lecturers and examiners outside the studio and participate in additional morning and evening activities – all with meals and accommodation provided.

Whether you want to attend for one day or the whole week, this event is ideal for all teachers; from the most experienced through to those still in training. Attending CPD courses is the best way to update your teaching practice and refresh yourself for the autumn term.

NEW FOR 2025

  • On Friday 15 and Saturday 16 August, you will have the opportunity to mix and match your course choices, meaning you can swap genres halfway through the day.
  • Teachers will also have the opportunity to attend ‘cross genre’ courses, focused on specific aspects of dance training which can apply to any dance style – such stability, turns, warm ups and much more.

Cecchetti Classical Ballet:  Advanced 1 and Advanced 2 Refresher 

This course will allow you to learn or refresh knowledge of a selection of the Advanced 1 and 2 syllabus, through a practical exploration of syllabus content.  Teachers will consider the Cecchetti principles within the exercises and the qualities expected of students and increase awareness of the Cecchetti Days of the Week.
By the end of the course, you will have studied a selection of set exercises from Advanced 1 and 2, considered the expectations of technique and artistry for students studying at this level and received guidance on preparing students for examinations.
It is intended for teachers with all levels of experience to refresh, learn, or observe the work and is ideal for teachers working towards the examination with their classes, as well as Licentiate or Fellowship students.

Cecchetti Classical Ballet:  Improvisation and Creating Exam Dances / Performance Awards Refresher 

This course allows you to explore creative ideas for improvisation and creating exam dances, also refreshing the content and expectations for the Performance Awards. The course considers various creative ideas to develop students’ improvisation and exploring the content of the four levels of Performance awards.
This course is intended for teachers at all levels of experience, from DDE students to experienced teachers. This course can be accessed as a refresher or as new learning.

Cecchetti Classical Ballet:  Intermediate and Intermediate Foundation Refresher

This course will allow you to learn or refresh knowledge of a selection of the Intermediate and Intermediate Foundation syllabus, through a practical exploration of syllabus content.
By the end of the course, you will have studied set exercises from the Intermediate and Intermediate Foundation; considered expectations of technique and artistry for students studying at this level and received guidance on preparing candidates for examinations.
This course is intended for teachers for teachers with all levels of experience to refresh, learn or observe the work. 

Cecchetti Classical Ballet: An exploration of Allegro and Pirouettes

This course will explore examples of terre à terre allegro and consider ways to enhance strength and speed of footwork. Participants will practise examples of terre à terre work taken from the Cecchetti syllabus and consider some examples of training exercises for improving these.
The course explore ways of improving balance and control and improving the quality of the turn. Participants will consider and practise exercises designed to improve the quality of a turn in pirouettes, and facilitate dancing pirouettes with fluidity in longer sequences.
This course is intended for teachers at all levels of experience, from DDE students to experienced teachers. Both Imperial Classical Ballet and Cecchetti Classical Ballet teachers are encouraged to join.

Cecchetti Classical Ballet: Creative Ideas and Teaching Repertoire for Classical Ballet

The first session will be a free class exploring creative ideas using the Cecchetti Ballet principles. This unset class will allow you to gain creative ideas for working around the syllabus.
Part 2 will introduce a piece of repertoire that can be used and adapted with students.
By the end of the class, you will have experienced ideas for creative work, based on the Cecchetti principle and explored repertoire suitable for different levels of students.
This course is intended for teachers at all levels of experience, from DDE students to experienced teachers. Both Imperial Classical Ballet and Cecchetti Classical Ballet teachers are encouraged to join.

Cecchetti Classical Ballet: Exploring extracts from the ballets with Cecchetti Diploma 

This course will allow you to explore a selection of the Cechetti Diploma extracts from the ballets and can be useful for ballet teachers working with a high level of vocational students. Diploma is the examination above Advanced 2, in Cecchetti Classical Ballet. The course enables you to experience and discuss a selection of Diploma extracts, from a range of ballets and consider components such as the style and costuming and their influence on the movement.
This course is intended for teachers at all levels of experience, from DDE students to experienced teachers. This will be a practical course for those wanting to dance. Equally attendees are welcome to mark or watch the class. Both Imperial Classical Ballet and Cecchetti Classical Ballet teachers are encouraged to join, and this course will particularly benefit those working on Fellowship and Advanced levels.

Cecchetti Classical Ballet: Exploring music for Classical Ballet  / Grade 5 and 6 Refresher 

This music course aims to give an insight into the fascinating range of music available for ballet classes. Through exploring the theoretical aspects, greater confidence will be gained to incorporate a rich variety of music into classes and choreography, ultimately enhancing the teaching of Classical Ballet and develop creativity and artistry.
Teachers will gain a better awareness of the variety of music available both when working with a pianist or creating playlists. Additionally, the confidence to explore and experiment with a wide range of music and qualities to enhance their delivery of exercises to their students both in class and in choreography, in a stimulating way.
The second half of this course will refresh and analyse the Grades 5 and 6.
The course will cover a selection of the set syllabus exercises and considered the expectations of technique, preparation and artistry for students studying at this level. This course is intended to teachers with all levels of experience, from DDE students to experienced teachers.

Classical Greek: Advanced 1 and 2 Revision - with Fellowship Guideline

This course will promote an in depth understanding of the Classical Greek Advanced 1 & 2 syllabus and provide guidance for Fellowship examination.
This course is suitable for teachers wanting to review the syllabus and current holders of a Licentiate qualification.

Classical Greek: Graded Syllabus Requests 

This course will cover content from the Graded syllabus and give clarification of detail and execution of movements. This course is suitable for Classical Greek Teachers, DDE & Licentiate students, as well as teachers new to Classical Greek Dance who want to explore the genre further. Teachers should request via email if there is specific content requests.

Classical Greek: Dance Medal Tests and Dance for Festivals

This course will cover Medal Tests and Festival Dances. The first part of the day will demonstrate how Classical Greek Medal Tests can supplement the training of young dancers. Teachers will gain a thorough knowledge of set sequences and of vocabulary content suitable for Bronze medal. The next part of the session will cover the common faults, themes and correct technique in Classical Greek Dance as performed at festivals. There will be discussion of suitable music choices and sharing of ideas for choreography.
This course is suitable for Classical Greek Teachers, DDE & Licentiate students, as well as teachers new to Classical Greek Dance who want to explore the genre further.

Contemporary: Intermediate Foundation (Day 1 and 2) 

This course aims to provide teachers with the skills they need to prepare students for the Intermediate Foundation examination. Attendees will experience syllabus exercises and solo, exploring the key elements and themes of the syllabus, also investigate methods and tools for setting and guiding students through structured improvisation tasks.
Suitable for those new to Contemporary syllabi, or those wishing to revisit the Intermediate Foundation material in full. Accompanying course materials are available to purchase via the ISTD shop.
Both days of the course should be attended.

Contemporary: Intermediate (Day 1 and 2)

Both days of the course should be attended. As students are required to pass the Intermediate Foundation exam before progressing through higher levels, we advise that teachers undertake the Intermediate Foundation course before Intermediate.

Cross Genre:  Training for Pre-Pointe, Pointe work and Pirouettes (with Imperial Classical Ballet lecturer) 

This course will first explore ideas for the training of pirouettes considering how to encourage turning from a young age. Set exercises and turning steps from Imperial Classical Ballet will be covered (sur place and en diagonal) from Grade 2 Demi-Detourné through to Intermediate (Options A and B).
This course will focus on factors to consider, determining when to move students onto pointe, pre-pointe training and the development to vocational levels with an emphasis on safe dance practice.
This course is for trainee ballet teachers, teachers wishing to improve their practice and/or working towards Licentiate or Fellowship status. Both Imperial Classical Ballet and Cecchetti Classical Ballet teachers are encouraged to join.

Cross Genre: Developing Pointe work for Vocational levels (with Cecchetti Classical Ballet lecturer) 

The first session will be a free class, exploring creative ideas using the Cecchetti Ballet principles. This unset class will allow you to gain creative ideas for working around the syllabus.
Part 2 will explore ways of building strength and technical ability, in order to support students in the challenges encountered in the transition from Intermediate to Advanced pointework.
By the end of the class, you will have experienced ideas for creative work, based on the Cecchetti principle and developed your understanding of the challenges encountered in developing pointework technique included in the Advanced 1 syllabus.
This course is intended for teachers at all levels of experience, from DDE students to experienced teachers. Both Imperial Classical Ballet and Cecchetti Classical Ballet teachers are encouraged to join.

Cross Genre: An introduction to exploring Improvisation methods to use creatively with your students

This session offers teachers a practical improvisation workshop exploring concepts, uses and benefits to this area of dance. There is no need for delegates to be familiar with the Contemporary syllabus work, as we will be exploring improvisation within any genre.
Delegates will be encouraged to contribute ideas and engage in discussion during the session and will explore task-based ideas to take into classes and share with students.
This session is suitable for teachers exploring improvisation work for the first time, and for those looking to further develop skills and ideas to use with their students. .

Cross Genre: Using Creative Practice within technique classes to engage learners 

This session offers teachers a practical workshop exploring concepts, uses and benefits of the inherent creative aspect of technique. There is no need for delegates to be familiar with the Contemporary syllabus work, as we will be exploring material within any genre.
Delegates are encouraged to contribute ideas and engage in discussion during the session, as they experience a practice-based movement session, exploring the creative aspects of technique.
The course will show ways of implementing and furthering creative development within technique classes through tasks and discussions. This session is suitable for teachers wishing to discuss, reflect and further develop creative aspects of technique and ideas to use with their students.

Cross Genre: Techniques for Enhancing Efficiency in Dance Training: Day 1 

The Warm-Up: What’s needed and why -  This course will provide teachers with tools to design warm-ups that enhance readiness, focus, learning and performance outcomes, and reduce the risk of injury.
Kicks and Adage: Balancing Range of Motion and Control - This workshop explores strategies for developing functional range of motion with precision and control. Learn how to optimise hip mobility and control with progressive exercises that scale easily across a range of abilities and levels.
The session focuses on specific aspects of dance training, providing step-by-step progressions that fit seamlessly into existing class structures. With a strong emphasis on efficiency, injury prevention, and skill development, to help teachers create effective, engaging, and productive learning experiences for their students. This course is suitable for all teachers of all genres at all levels, and is ideal for Associate/DDE/Licentiate/Fellowship training.

Cross Genre: Techniques for Enhancing Efficiency in Dance Training: Day 2

Posture, Pliés, and Pelvic Balance: Foundations of stability - Through practical exercises and teaching strategies, this session highlights how optimising pliés, pelvic alignment, and functional stability can support dynamic movement and empower students to approach technique throughout their performance repertoire with confidence and clarity.
Mastering Turns: From Spotting to Balance - This session utilises biomechanical and skill development principles that underpin effective turning, providing teachers actionable strategies to help their students refine their technique. Exploring stepwise progressions to build competence and consistency in a variety of turning steps, mastering this essential element of dance performance with confidence and finesse.
This day workshop aims to equip dance teachers with practical, easy-to-apply strategies to refine technique and improve student outcomes. The session focuses on specific aspects of dance training, providing step-by-step progressions that fit seamlessly into existing class structures. With a strong emphasis on efficiency, injury prevention, and skill development, to help teachers create effective, engaging, and productive learning experiences for their students. This course is suitable for all teachers of all genres at all levels, and is ideal for Associate/DDE/Licentiate/Fellowship training.

Suitable for those teaching Advanced 2 Ballet & teachers working towards Fellowship. Prior knowledge of the set work would be beneficial but not essential.

Imperial Classical Ballet: Advanced 2 Refresher (Option B) 

This course will allow you to refresh your knowledge of the Advanced 2 Syllabus Option B set work, through a practical exploration of the syllabus content. You will gain further insight into the technical detail, musicality and artistry of set enchaînements for Option B syllabus.
Suitable for those teaching Advanced 2 Ballet & teachers working towards Fellowship. Prior knowledge of the set work would be beneficial but not essential.

Imperial Classical Ballet: Option B: Set Enchainement for Grades 3 to 6 / Inter and Advanced 1 Vocabulary

This course will teach the Option B enchaînements from Grades 3 to 6. It will then discuss training methods for Option B vocabulary in Intermediate & Advanced 1and answer questions about technical details of Option B vocabulary in the same level, such as tour en l’air, turns in 2nd, and multiple pirouettes. The set work for Option B Intermediate and Advanced 1 will not be covered in this course.
This course will be suitable for trainee ballet teachers, established teachers wishing to improve their practice and give students options in the syllabus that suit dancers’ strengths and preferences, or teachers working towards Licentiate or Fellowship.

Imperial Classical Ballet: Intermediate Set Work (Option B) 

This course will allow you to refresh the set enchainments for Option B Intermediate syllabus and to explore the technique, artistry and musicality within the set work.
This course is for those teaching option B set work, teachers wishing to improve their practice and give students options in the syllabus that suit dancers’ strengths and preferences and teachers working towards Licentiate or Fellowship.

Imperial Classical Ballet: Dances and Set Variations from  Primary to Grade 3 

This course will cover one Dance or Set Variation from each grade, Primary - Grade 3, focusing particularly on the artistry and musicality at each level.
You will discuss technical detail, artistry and musicality to enhance performance and enjoyment as well as teaching strategies to assist in creating the varying qualities expected.
This course is suitable for those already teaching grades, DDE students and recently qualified teachers.

There will be time for questions and discussion about free work at Grade 6 level. The Variations will not be covered on this course.
This course is ideal for those teaching, or planning to teach Grade 6, DDE and Associate students as well as those studying for Licentiate and Fellowship.

Imperial Classical Ballet: Advanced 1 (Option A) Set Work Refresher with Variation B 

This course will allow you to refresh your knowledge of the Option A set work at Advanced 1, through a practical exploration of the syllabus content.  You will gain further insight into the technical detail, musicality and artistry of set enchaînements and also learn or refresh Variation B.
This course is suitable for those teaching, or planning to teach Advanced 1, as well as those studying for Licentiate and Fellowship.

Imperial Classical Ballet: Training Allegro through the grades and examples of free enchaînement 

This course will equip teachers with an understanding of how to train allegro in the grades, discuss common problems that occur and explore ideas for free enchainments.
You will explore ideas, through practical demonstration, use vocabulary from the graded syllabus and explore how different musical styles can enhance allegro.
This course is suitable for teachers training allegro in ballet classes, trainee ballet teachers (studying Associate/DDE), and teachers training for Licentiate and Fellowship

Modern Theatre: Advanced 1 Amalgamations 

This course will cover the Blues and Latin Commercial Advanced 1 Amalgamations. You will become proficient with the technical and artistic aspects of the amalgamations, and feel secure in your syllabus knowledge, while learning to achieve the correct technique and artistic nuances of the syllabus content.
This course is suitable for all teachers – especially those working with Advanced 1 students. It is ideal for teachers preparing for Licentiate & Fellowship qualifications.

Modern Theatre: Advanced 2 Amalgamations 

This course will cover two of the Advanced 2 Amalgamations. You will become proficient with the technical and artistic aspects of the amalgamations, and feel secure in your syllabus knowledge, while learning to achieve the correct technique and artistic nuances of the syllabus content.
This course is suitable for all teachers – especially those working with Advanced 2 students. It is ideal for teachers preparing for Licentiate & Fellowship qualifications.

Modern Theatre: Grades 3 and 6 Refresher 

This course is a revision of the Grade 3 & Grade 6 syllabi, with specific focus on the key content of the class examinations and free music playlist (no amalgamations will be covered).
This is an opportunity to gain a proficient technical and artistic understanding of the set syllabus work for Option A & B, through development of technical knowledge and teaching progressions/strategies. Additional focus on the new music playlist will guide your use of the alternative tracks to further enhance the dancer’s enjoyment of the syllabus work.
This course is suitable for all teachers – especially those preparing for their Associate/DDE/Licentiate/Fellowship qualification. 

Modern Theatre: Licentiate and Fellowship - Training Advanced 1 and 2 students

This course day will explore key vocabulary from Advanced 1 and 2 for analysis and creating free sequences/progressions/themes – linked to Licentiate & Fellowship status exam preparation. You will enhance your teaching methodologies, technical knowledge, artistry and creative practises when working with Advanced 1 and 2 students.  This course is suitable for all teachers – especially those working with Advanced 1 and 2 students. It is ideal for teachers preparing for Licentiate & Fellowship qualifications.

Modern Theatre: Musical Theatre Amalgamations Grades 4, 5 and 6 Refresher

This course revisits the alternative Musical Theatre progressions and amalgamations from the grades 4, 5 and 6 syllabi. There will be discussion and analysis of the required technique and artistry of the amalgamations and how to use the progressions to develop further creativity.
This course is aimed at teachers who have already attended the individual courses previously for each grade.  It is designed for anyone teaching Grades 4, 5 and 6 and all teachers considering the Musical Theatre style.

Modern Theatre: Developing Jazz technique through the Gold Jazz Award syllabus 

Teachers will become proficient with the technical and artistic aspects of the syllabus content of Gold Jazz and ideas for developing jazz technique at this level. Teachers will explore and gain confidence with free jazz work beyond the syllabus to broaden and develop style.
During the session you will cover 2 of the Gold Jazz Amalgamations and become proficient with the technical and artistic aspects of the content. This course is for all teachers who want to cover Gold Jazz work with their students.

Modern Theatre: Revise & Regenerate - Intermediate  with free music (Part 1)

This session is a revision of Intermediate Syllabus Options A&B with new music playlist and adaptations to fit regular phrasing. (Please note that NO Set Amalgamations, Press-ups, Floor sequence, Combination step, analysis of dance vocabulary or free work will be covered on this day.)
This course is designed to develop analytical skills with an exploration of teaching points and concepts that underpin all Modern Theatre dance vocabulary. It will give an insight into the purpose of the Limbering and how using these same concepts can improve technique for all centre work.
This course is for anyone teaching Intermediate, all DDE Unit 4 Tutors, Associate and Associate Diploma teachers and their students as well as anyone studying or coaching Licentiate and Fellowship.

Modern Theatre: Grade 4 Floorwork - Option A Body Strengthening and Option B Sequence

This course introduces the new floor sequences in Grade 4 using progressions that can be used in class to build up to the set arrangements. It will cover the Body Strengthening exercise Option A & Progressions and Option B Sequence and Push Aways.
This is an opportunity to become proficient with the technical and artistic aspects by exploring the essential teaching methodologies and concepts used to develop the strengthening elements of the syllabus.
This course is essential for anyone teaching graded syllabus exams as well as tutors working on or delivering DDE, Associate or Associate Diploma.

Modern Theatre: Revise & Regenerate - Intermediate  with free music (Part 2)

This session is a revision of Intermediate Modern (Options A & B) to Free Music and will include analysis of Option B Floor Sequence, Analysis of Dance Vocabulary, Free Work and Amalgamations.
This course is designed to give you a deeper technical analysis with an insight into teaching points of the dance vocabulary, to secure syllabus knowledge, explore concepts and teaching methodologies to support training Intermediate students technically and artistically.
This course is for anyone teaching Intermediate, all DDE Unit 4 Tutors, Associate and Associate Diploma teachers and their students as well as anyone studying or coaching Licentiate and Fellowship.

Modern Theatre: Grade 5 Floorwork - Body Strengthening, Preparation for Falls and Floor Limbering

This course introduces the new Body Strengthening Exercise in Grade 5 using progressions that can be used in class to build up to the set arrangements. It will cover the Body Strengthening exercise & Progressions, Preparation for Falls, and Floor Limbering Option A/B.
This is an opportunity to become proficient with the technical and artistic aspects by exploring the essential teaching methodologies and concepts used to develop the strengthening elements of the syllabus.

National Dance: In Depth Revision of Grades to Intermediate Day 2

This course will cover the syllabus of Grades and Intermediate in countries. It will give you depth knowledge of style, technique of all dances in the grades and Intermediate to allow for preparing candidates for Graded exams and thorough knowledge for DDE and teaching students.
This course is aimed at all national teachers and any level of student teachers. It is recommended that you attend both days of the course to cover the full syllabus.

Street dance: Medal Test Training and Choreography Workshop

This one-day course is designed to provide comprehensive training for examinations and choreographing routines for street dance medal tests.  The day is structured into two main sessions: an overview of medal test examinations with tips and tricks for success, and then focus on choreographing routines for medal tests, understanding common pitfalls and how to avoid them. This course is ideal for dance instructors, choreographers, and anyone involved in preparing students for medal test examinations in street dance.

Street dance: Popping Intenstive with Alex Mechanikool

This full day workshop will focus on mastering the Popping technique.  The day is structured to build from foundational techniques to a complete routine, ensuring participants gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The aim is to equip teachers with the skills and confidence to teach Popping effectively.
This workshop is ideal for dance teachers, choreographers, and anyone interested in mastering and teaching the Popping technique.

Tap dance: Advanced 1 Day 1

This course will introduce teachers to some of the content of the new Advanced 1 Tap syllabus. Day 1 will include the technical drills, timesteps, rhythm and a selected technical sequence.
This course is suitable for teachers delivering Advanced 1 Tap, Licentiates and/or Fellowships. This course is also appropriate for anyone wanting to develop free work ideas if they are teaching non syllabus tap work to higher level students.

Tap dance: Advanced 1 Day 2

This course will introduce teachers to some of the content of the new Advanced 1 Tap syllabus. Day 2 will include selected technical sequences, the turning sequence and the amalgamations.
This course is suitable for teachers delivering Advanced 1 Tap, Licentiates and/or Fellowships. This course is also appropriate for anyone wanting to develop free work ideas if they are teaching non syllabus tap work to higher level students.
All delegates must have attended the day 1 course, before attending day 2. Day 2 will refer to content discussed on day 1, therefore attendees will be expected to have a working knowledge of all content previously covered.

Tap dance: Advanced 1 Refresher

This course will review the content of the new Advanced 1 Tap syllabus. This one-day course will provide a fast-paced refresher of the content and allow teachers to ask any questions they have about delivering it to their students.
All teachers must have attended the full Day 1 and Day 2 of the course previously, as prior knowledge of this new syllabus is essential to take part in the day. This course is suitable for teachers delivering Advanced 1 Tap, Licentiates and/or Fellowships.  

Tap dance: Grade 5 Tap Refresher - No amalgamations

This morning session will cover the set syllabus work from Grade 5. No amalgamations will be covered. This course is ideal for all teachers as a revision of the content and to work with other teachers to trade teaching technique and good practice.

Tap dance: Grade 6 Tap Refresher - No amalgamations

This afternoon session will cover the set syllabus work from Grade 6. No amalgamations will be covered. This course is ideal for all teachers as a revision of the content and to work with other teachers to trade teaching technique and good practice.

Tap dance: Intermediate Refresher 

This course will allow you to refresh your knowledge of the entire Intermediate Syllabus, go through some corrections and ask any questions that you may have. A thorough working knowledge of the syllabus is essential to this course, as this will not be taught from scratch. 

Tap dance: Grade refresher: Pre Primary, Primary, Grade 1 & Grade 4 

This day session will cover the set syllabus work from lower Grades and Grade 4. No amalgamations will be covered. This course is ideal for all teachers as a revision of the content and to work with other teachers to trade teaching technique and good practice.

How to book 

Once you have submitted your booking form, you will need to complete a deposit payment of £100. Bookings are not confirmed until payment has been received, and your place will be released if payment is not made within 5 days. Your booking form may be edited when processed by the CPD and Events team, if mistakes have been made (e.g. booking accommodation for dates where you are not attending courses). If the wrong course has been booked, we will try our best to accommodate a swap onto the intended course, but we cannot guarantee a place if the course has since been sold out.

Once your deposit has been made, you will receive a confirmation from us where your place will be confirmed alongside further details about the event. 

If you have chosen to pay the remaining balance in full (i.e. not via the instalment plan), please allow up to 2 weeks to receive your payment link. 

Please note that due to the nature of this event, credit notes can not be used towards the cost of attending Residential Summer Programme. Please contact the CPD and Events team via coursebookings@istd.org to confirm which courses credit can be used against.

All payments and balances must be settled by Friday 4 July 2025.

Course times

All courses will take place 9:45 - 17:30 British Summer Time (BST). Courses will include time for breaks and lunch; however, the exact timing of these may vary from course to course.

Residential attendees

Delegates staying residentially will be housed in the Chichester University student accommodation on campus. Residential rates include accommodation and evening meal the night before the course; breakfast, lunch and tea and coffee breaks on the day of the course; parking and course fees. 

Please note: Accommodation and dinner is provided the evening before your course. If you select accommodation for dates where you will not be attending, we will remove this when we process your booking.

Day attendees

Attendees also have the option to attend this event as a day delegate. Day rates include lunch, tea and coffee breaks, parking and course fees.

Parking

If indicated as required on the booking form, delegates will be provided with a parking permit for the duration of their stay on site. If this is not displayed correctly in the vehicle, the ISTD will not be responsible for any charges incurred.

Additional activities

During this event, residential delegates will have the opportunity to attend additional morning warm-ups and evening activities for free. Residential delegates will receive a full morning and evening activity timetable in due course.

Lecturers

In the instance of a change to availability, we may need to find an alternative lecturer (than the one originally scheduled) to lead a course. This will not affect the content covered in the course.

Course cancellations

Courses are subject to cancellation if the minimum attendee numbers have not been reached. Therefore we strongly advise that all attendees book well in advance to avoid disappointment. 

Credit Notes

Terms and conditions

 

Booking conditions

All fees must be paid in full, with cleared funds, before bookings close for the event on Friday 4 July 2025. Delegates may only attend once payment has been made. Payment will not be accepted on the day of the course.

Cancellations

Cancellations must be made via email to coursebookings@istd.org

A non-refundable deposit of £100 is required to secure your place. Should the ISTD be required to cancel this event due to low delegate uptake then the deposit will be refunded.

Should the delegate cancel their booking the ISTD will follow the cancellation policy outlined below, unless in exceptional mitigating circumstances.

  • For any cancellations made more than 61 days before the event, the ISTD will retain the deposit.
  • For any cancellations made 60 - 30 days before the event, you will incur a 50% cancellation fee (deposit is non-refundable).
  • For any cancellations made 29 - 15 days before the event, you will incur a 75% cancellation fee (deposit is non-refundable).
  • For any cancellations made 14 days or less before the event, you will incur a 100% cancellation fee (deposit is non-refundable).
  • Under exceptional circumstances or where a doctor’s certificate is provided a full or partial refund may be given at the discretion of the Dance Education and Training department.

In the event that event delivery is affected by a local lockdown or any other force majeure, we will do our best to make alternative arrangements in order to ensure the course can go ahead. However, if this is not possible, delegates will be contacted and offered a refund or a credit note.

Delegates are advised to book refundable travel and/or accommodation, as the ISTD will not refund any incurred costs if the event does not take place.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

Further Information

Certificates of attendance will be sent to each delegate via email as a PDF document, after the CPD event has taken place. The CPD hours on the certificate will reflect the time attended by the participant with time deducted for late arrival or early departure from the session.

The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing has the right to refuse bookings on the grounds of health and safety.

Course delegates are responsible for their own personal property and safety. 

The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing reserves the right to record any CPD for the purpose of further training. The ISTD is committed to the principle that the interests and welfare of participants taking part in dance activities is paramount. To comply with the Data Protection Act 1998, ISTD needs your permission before we take any photography or video of you. By acknowledging and agreeing to these terms I consent to ISTD photographing or videoing me at this event. 

Filming /photography / recording of any content displayed or discussed during the class is not permitted by any delegate.

All work displayed is the intellectual property of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and appointed lecturers.

Behaviour and Conduct

Should any delegate display behaviour or conduct that is not deemed appropriate or respectful during or after the event then they may be asked to leave for the benefit of the other attendees.
