The Academy supports the ISTD in the delivery of its primary purpose to educate the public in the art of dancing by offering a range of initial and higher teaching qualifications. ISTD Academy has been created to ensure ISTD has a separation from the regulatory requirements as an Awarding Organisation and the delivery of qualifications.
The Academy seeks to be a leading example of good practice; showing the ability to innovate and explore new methodologies and courses, demonstrate outstanding delivery to support a diverse range of teachers to thrive and progress in an environment that is creative and forward thinking.
The Academy aims to support and guide teachers on their journey offering online options with mentoring support that is affordable and achievable to progress into chosen career routes.
We offer a range of intensive online courses, designed to support your teaching career; from the ISTD Level 6 Diploma in Dance Pedagogy (DDP) to Licentiate and Units 1 and 5 of the ISTD Level 4 Diploma in Dance Education (DDE).
Open to dance teachers worldwide, our ISTD Academy courses offer professional advancement opportunities for teachers in the UK, Europe, and internationally.

We have a full time ISTD Academy Programme Manager who will be able to support and guide you to ensure individual care for each student on the course.
The ISTD work with a wide range of specialist staff to deliver our courses, who are ISTD qualified and experienced within their field.
