Are you interested in becoming a Street Dance examiner for ISTD?

ISTD works with dance students and teachers across the world to provide high-quality, rigorous and reliable assessments for all ages and levels. We are currently looking for experienced, enthusiastic and committed Street Dance teachers who are interested in developing their skills and experience to become an examiner.

We also welcome applications from current examiners who wish to qualify to examine additional genres. 

These applications are to qualify to examine for Amateur Medal Tests initially.  

Our examiners are highly qualified, fully trained and widely experienced and strive to provide a positive examination experience for teachers and students. They work with a range of different schools in the UK and internationally and assess both face-to-face and digitally.

We are interested in hearing from you if:

  • You are passionate about dance and supporting the next generation of dance students to progress 
  • You have a positive and calm disposition with a methodical approach and a good eye for detail 
  • You have strong written and interpersonal communication skills 
  • You have good digital literacy skills and are happy working with new software 
  • You hold an ISTD Associate qualification. In accordance with the Society’s Rules and Standing Orders, priority will be given to applicants qualified to Fellowship. 
  • You hold a current DBS certificate 
  • You are able to attend a number of face-to-face and digital training sessions beginning January 2025 
  • You are able to travel throughout the UK (if based in the UK) and are happy to examine at weekends 
  • You are currently a dance teacher or have extensive experience of ISTD Street Dance. 
  • You have entered candidates for successful ISTD examinations in the past. 
 
 

We welcome applications from UK and International members who hold qualifications in single or multiple genres. International members, please note that training will be based in the UK members initially. Further international based training is planned in the near future.    

Applicants should be ready to commit to attending a training programme beginning January 2025. No expenses will be paid to applicants for face-to-face recruitment or training sessions. 

Applications must be submitted by 9am Monday 2 December 2024.

Interviews will be held online on 4, 11 and 18 December 2024.
