The ISTD is proud to share that on 12 June, a mid-term election was held to elect a new President and Vice President of the British Dance Council.
We are delighted to announce that our very own Patron and Dancesport Ambassador, Christopher Hawkins (pictured below), has been elected to the post of President of the Council and Chair of the Board of Directors. He is both proud and honoured to serve the British Dance Council in his new roles, and is determined that, together with his new Vice President, Mark Lunn, his fellow Directors and the Member Organisations of the BDC, (Including the ISTD), they will be united in their goal to build a brighter and safer future for the British dancing industry.
For the sake of avoiding a conflict of interest going forward, Christopher has now had to step down from his role in the Ballroom Faculty. He has been proud to serve the Faculty for 13 years, and he tells us that he will be sad to leave such a valuable role in the Society. He has passed on his thanks to all of his colleagues, not just those on the Ballroom Faculty, but on all of the Dancesport Faculties. It has been a privilege and a pleasure to serve with such a great team of people, and he wishes everyone well in all their future endeavours.
