14 April 2023
We were very pleased to receive so many entries for these new, combined junior and senior awards, with a total of 520 dancers taking part in the UK and International online heats, of which 116 were international.
It’s exciting that entries came in not only from the UK but also from Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Portugal, Trinidad and Tobago, and Vietnam. This clearly demonstrates the value of connecting and sharing online in bringing our global community closer together.
All these entries meant that the heats adjudicators experienced Imperial Classical Ballet examiners Mary Cooke, Rosalea Gibson, Diane Durant, Beverley Rand, Tina Rodgers, Linda Shipton, Helen Steggles, and Susan Tenty, had an extremely busy and enjoyable week watching and marking all the candidates! Following this the finals adjudicators, Faculty expert Lorraine Swain and Imperial Classical Ballet-trained ex-Royal Ballet dancer Francesca Filpi watched the finalists’ videos and agreed on the winners.
Congratulations to all who took part, especially the finalists and of course, the deserving winners. We very much appreciated your entries, and we hope you enjoyed learning and performing the enchainements.

"I was thrilled to be invited to adjudicate these prestigious awards and enjoyed watching the international finalists’ footage. It was a privilege to see young dancers from all over the world, carefully and lovingly taught, performing charming enchainements which gave them plenty of artistic, musical, and technical scope. Congratulations to the winners and their teachers for their well-deserved awards."
