ISTD Bursaries 2025/26

Our impact over the last 7 years 

Over the past seven years, we have proudly supported 130 members in gaining their teaching qualifications and have funded a variety of impactful projects. These include: 

• TIRED Scholarship 
• Musical Theatre Classes and Performance 
• Ballet In A Box 
• Dance Connection 
• PACE Youth Arts 
• Project Wave – Connect to Dance 
• Danscentre Boys Academy – DCBA 
• Bringing Concepts Alive through Modern Dance! 
• Decreasing The Entry Barrier for Underserved Black Communities 
• BORAF (registered charity) empowering children from deprived areas to access dance 

Change to bursary funding for 2025/26 

Due to the current financial climate and level of participation the ISTD Council has made the difficult decision to withdraw bursary funding for the following areas in 2025/26: 

• Phyllis Haylor Scholarship 
• Theatre Bursary Awards 
• Dancesport Bursary Awards 

While this change is necessary this year, we will review the situation annually. Our primary focus remains on providing funding for dance teachers facing financial barriers in accessing training, achieving their teaching qualifications, and gaining employment in the dance industry.
