What is the ISTD Residential Summer Programme?
The ISTD Residential Summer Programme is a week-long programme, full of courses designed to provide comprehensive and informative CPD in a supportive and inspiring environment.
Taking place in the scenic surroundings of the University of Chichester, the programme offers a perfect blend of training, business development workshops, and networking opportunities.
When is it?
Taking place 12-18 August, you can book yourself in for one day, the whole week, or a select number of days throughout.
All courses will take place 9:45 - 17:30 British Summer Time, with time for breaks and lunch. There are also opportunities to participate in additional morning and evening activities and all meals and accommodation are provided.
Who Can Attend?
This event is ideal for all teachers, from the most experienced through to those still in training.
Both members and non-members are invited to attend- it is a fantastic way to connect with Teachers and other members from around the world, while also networking with lecturers and examiners outside the studio.
Attending CPD (Continued Professional Development) courses is the best way to update your teaching practice and refresh yourself for the new term. Taking time to share practice and learn from others not only equips you for your current teaching but also enables you to be inspired and reignites the passion you have for dance.
What to Expect
- Genre specific courses: Participants can explore a variety of dance genres including Cecchetti Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre, Tap, Contemporary, and Street Dance. This eclectic mix ensures that teachers like you can choose to immerse yourself in your knowledge base or broaden your horizons and discover new syllabi and genres.
- Expert Faculty: Learn from some of the most respected and experienced instructors in the dance world. Our teaching teams have been hand-picked as experienced dancers and educators, who bring a wealth of knowledge and a passion for teaching.
- Business Development: We inspire, teach and support dancers and dance teachers around the world, by providing support and training for our members through a wide variety of resources, teaching syllabi and techniques.
This is a brilliant opportunity to expand your knowledge, network with other teachers and lecturers and engage in workshops designed to help you build your business. - Get important insights: With syllabus updates, Bursary Awards performance and ISTD Heads of Faculty in attendance, there are numerous ways you’ll be able to engage in the latest news and updates from the ISTD.
- Come together to celebrate dance: In our 120th year, we are more excited than ever to meet and engage with teachers from around the world, whether you are already a member, thinking of becoming one, or are not even familiar with the ISTD.
You can meet fellow dancers from around the world, share experiences, and build friendships that last a lifetime. The residential aspect of the programme helps to foster a close-knit community atmosphere.
